With its expanse of bright stars, Orion, the mythological hunter of the skies, is an apt representation of the diversity of the membership of the carnival krewe that bears his name. The Krewe of Orion was founded in 1998 by two young men, who have a love of the spirit of Mardi Gras and a desire to bring that spirit and tradition to Baton Rouge.
From its beginning, the Krewe of Orion has worked to share the tradition and spirit of Mardi Gras in Baton Rouge. It will continue to "hunt" for ways to promote tourism, community spirit, and goodwill among the citizens of our area.
